As we all know, technology takes down the walls of the school building and opens our children up to a whole world of learning experiences. The teachers at MTA strive to incorporate the use of technology into their curriculum, via the Blended Learning model, on a daily basis. We are very excited about the limitless possibilities that using technology can bring to the classroom.
Please read below for further information on MTA’s technology initiatives:
1:1 Devices – At MTA, students in grades 2 – 5 are assigned a Chromebook at the beginning of the school year to use across all contents and special area classes throughout the school day. MTA has a goal of completing 1:1 devices in Kindergarten and 1st grade by 2020.
Technology Integration Report Card – At MTA we believe that students and parents should have a clear expectation for the MTA Technology Standards. Each semester, every student receives a detailed Technology Integration report card which lets them know where their strengths are, and what they still need to work on this school year. This report card is in addition to the academic report card that is sent home each 9 weeks.

Technology Fair – Each year, MTA hosts a school-wide Technology Fair. 100% of MTA students K – 5 participate in the Technology Fair. Students work on creating a digital piece of work that they present to parents, visitors, and other grade-levels. The projects range from Prezis to PowToons, PhotoStory to StoryBird, iMovie to Scratch. The sky is the limit when students chose their presentation model. Our 5th Grade students then move on to compete in the Hall County Regional Technology Fair and the Georgia Educational Technology Fair.
